Learning French at the DEFLE
means being able to benefit from:
A team of highly
qualified, experienced and approved teaching staff made up of teachers from the DEFLE who
are primarily concerned with the teaching of the French language, in addition to teachers
from other departments of the Université de
Michel de Montaigne who deal with specialized fields of study such as history and
literature. By virtue of innovating pedagogic teams, the teaching staff actively
participate in the research into the didactics of French as a foreign language and thereby
incorporate many years of teaching experience with the latest teaching
skills.
Courses structured and tailored to suit
the students' requirements, ranging from absolute beginners to future teachers of French
and including a number of specialized courses, for example business French. In order to
meet the needs and wishes of the students, the courses comprise different modules and
numerous options (including several literature and civilization options for
example) which
may be combined according to the progress and desires of the student.
Advanced facilites - modern classrooms, audio-visual
laboratories, a multi-media room connected to Internet, a lecture
theatre for musical activities, cinema or drama, a library containing several thousand
volumes and reviews dedicated to learning French as a foreign language, not
forgetting, of
course, the valuable resources available on the university
campus.
Teaching experience from a renowned centre of learning, approved
to award university diplomas and certificates which are
nationally and internationally recognized and which may be incorporated into European and
international university exchange programmes (system of credit transfer).
A range of services specially
developed for foreign students: an efficient service for welcoming students to the
DEFLE,
proposals of selected accommodation, help with administrative procedures, as well as
complete and clear documentation on courses and fees. Students enrolled with the DEFLE
also benefit fully from student status and the various advantages associated with it.
An advantageous working
environment: a prestigious university town which is easily accessible by plane or by train (TGV) and a region rich in history and culture and renowned for its 'art de
vivre'. Students also have a wide variety of cultural, leisure and
sporting activites available to them in addition to theatre, music, visits and excursions etc.
